Heard the urban legends of the doom of football trading on a Thursday? Allegedly invisible Betfair imps scout the markets to ensure pretty much every football trader in the world has a losing night?
Not true of course! But then again, there tends to be alot of cup games on a Thursday (which of course won't have the season form averages etc.. to use as a base alongside in-play stats). So may be the Thursday night tales of trading disaster have some basis.
I am -1.5pts tonight and guess what? All in-play picks as I couldn't trade my only short-listed game due to helping a friend out with a family emergency. The short-listed fixture would have been a nice profit by the way - classic!
No regrets either way, they in-play trades were all strong picks based on my current criteria. A couple of wins but more losses than wins. I will keep an eye on the trend of in-Play picks versus shortlist picks supported by in-play stats
A long way to go yet with our manual experiment as the proper review will be after I have manually traded 100 games.
Current status:
I have currently traded 8 games over 3 days. I will trade abit more over the weekend as plenty on my shortlist
NET position: +1.2 pts
Another observation is the big winning trades make a big difference so will keep an eye on that too
